Guido has more than 20 years of experience in the reinsurance industry. Having started his career in a bank´s Credit & Legal department before he moved to Union Re in Zurich, where he became a Team Leader for Credit & Surety underwriting and a Member of Senior Management. First steps in a Spanish speaking market were made at Swiss Re in Spain in 1999, where he successfully collaborated in the decentralization of client management and treaty underwriting from Zurich to Madrid and the integration of portfolios of Union Re and Bavaria Re into Swiss Re. As man for special and complex tasks he was sent to Buenos Aires, directing a pension fund Life & Health claims run-off project of a larger scale and became board member of Swiss Brokers Argentina. Guido than moved to France as head of Claims and Liability Management of Swiss Re in Paris being responsible for restructuring of processes concerning claims management, the winding-off of a Swiss Re claims management company, legal matters and contracts & wordings of that entity. He finally went back to underwriting as a Team Leader of Swiss Re´s Credit & Surety department in Zurich, where he, in line with the Credit & Surety downsizing decision of Swiss Re in 2009, developed a concept for discontinued lines of credit and bond business.

Guido´s experience in both worlds of reinsurance – claims management and underwriting of a very special line – is unique in the market. This and his ability to move easily in different cultural environments make him a first stop consultant for almost any issue in the reinsurance industry, be it restructuring, claims management, inspection/exit strategies or market/portfolio analysis.

Guido studied law at the University of Zurich.

He is fluent in German, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
