Oliver Brandenburg is one of Aurigon´s marine specialist with over 30 years of experience in the insurance market. He combines vast audit and due diligence experience with managerial and underwriting skills.
After finishing school in 1988, Oliver started his apprenticeship at Allianz Versicherungs AG (specializing in Marine insurance early on) which he graduated in 1991.
Following a one-year tour of duty with the German Air Force, he re-joined Allianz as Underwriter for Marine business for the next 14 years.
In 2006 he moved from Underwriting to the newly created Chief Underwriting Office Marine. In his new role he took care of the expansion of Marine business and worldwide offices, set group standards for Marine Underwriting and served as referral partner for business outside of the authority of local Marine Underwriters. When and before local portfolios where to be integrated into the Allianz portfolio, Oliver was conducting due diligence reviews of the local books. Servicing worldwide entities also included the task of conducting regular audits of their books – therefore he has a sound background in auditing.
Oliver is fluent in German and English and works to improve his French and Russian, which he has basic knowledge in.
