Suzanne is an attorney with over 20 years of experience, including 6 years in the legal profession and 15 years in executive positions within the insurance and reinsurance industry. Prior to her current role as a partner with Aurigon, Suzanne served as Vice President of Claims for a Greenlight Re located in Grand Cayman and as Senior Vice President and Head of Office for Alea North America.
She is ARIAS U.S. certified arbitrator and has served on multiple arbitration panels. She has extensive experience with claim audits, and in the areas of healthcare, construction defects, workers’ compensation, general and auto liability, commercial trucking and personal lines. In her early role as a litigator for Travelers/St. Paul, she handled defense of asbestos claims. She has also had extensive experience with MGA’s and TPA’s, TPA contracts, as well as with litigation management, across all U.S. states and in the U.K. Suzanne has been involved in primary, excess, facultative and treaty insurance and reinsurance issues and managed an HR department, Compliance/Regulatory department, as well as Reinsurance Accounting in her role as Head of Office within Alea.
In the late 90’s, Suzanne worked as Claim Consultant for Catastrophic Claims with the Hartford Insurance Group, focusing on the largest workers’ compensation claims, countrywide.
She graduated with Honors from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, with a degree in Psychology; and received her law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
Suzanne is a member of the Connecticut Bar, and the International Association of Claim Professionals. Early in her legal career, she served as a court appointed lawyer for the CT Juvenile Court system. She helped as a volunteer at the Crisis Center in Grand Cayman, a shelter for abused women; as a volunteer for the SARAH Foundation, supporting children and adults with disabilities; and on the Board of the Chester Historical Society.
